Dani Massaad
Dani Massaad is a singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer from Gothenburg, Sweden, whose music blends soulful classic rock with jazzy and symphonic elements. Influenced by legends like Queen, David Bowie, The Beach Boys, The Beatles and musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair, his sound blends 60s–70s nostalgia with a modern edge.
His music features lush arrangements, rich harmonies, silky falsettos, and roaring vocals. On stage, he’s theatrical and electrifying, performing solo or with ensembles ranging from a five-piece band to a full rock orchestra. He’s played across Sweden, the UK, Spain, and Italy, collaborating with groups like Bohuslän Big Band, Kvasar and Hindarfjäll.
After graduating from Gothenburg’s Academy of Music and Drama, Dani launched his solo project and just completed his debut concept album Ballroom Wasteland. Featuring 32 musicians — including a string quartet, brass section, gospel choir, and barbershop trio — the album was mixed by Samuel Tibell (known for his work with Hindarfjäll) and mastered by Björn Engelmann (known for mastering iconic artists such as ABBA and Zara Larsson). The album is semi-autobiographical and explores themes like escapism, mental illness, ADHD, love and heritage through Dani’s alter ego Damien Hellwig.
Moving forward, the plan is to release multiple singles and finally the entire album and eventually start touring, both in Sweden and internationally.
